Scaffolding Safety Awareness Training

This course covers some of the more important OSHA requirements for supported scaffolds, and different types and components of scaffolding, as well as basic safe practices for working on or near these scaffolds. This course is recommended as an introductory or refresher course for construction and general industry workers who will be working on or near scaffold systems.

Course Overview

This course is designed as an introductory or refresher course to help learners recognize basic types of supported and suspended scaffolds and their capacity requirements, their basic design and construction requirements, and the basic hazards posed by scaffold work and their controls.

Scaffold refers to a specific type of assembly structure, usually temporary in nature. It supports workers and materials while they build or repair a structure. Scaffolding involves sturdy connections of frames and planks by bolts and couplets. These pieces come in many forms depending on the size and shape of the desired framework.

This course covers several areas of the scaffolding proces and the proper scaffold erecting sequence. It identifies components used to build a scaffold and the different scaffolding types used in many industries and construction projects.
